Summer La Plagne 2014 BY David Delaney-Hall | Fri 01 Aug, 2014 As I sit on our balcony looking out to Mont Blanc bathed in evening summer July sunshine it seems appropriate to write our second blog and look back over last season. There was no end of season ‘big dump’ like the previous year however still plenty of snow and sun through the Easter break. Personally skiing at Easter is one of my favourite times of the year, its more chilled, more socialable, no need to rush out in a morning as the slopes are usually still hard and icy. 10 oclock its starting to warm up, then ski hard for the next 4-5 hours, chose your slopes, nice lunch on a sun terrace about 3.00pm, then a gentle ski back to the chalet. First things first however we must thank Jess and Laurie for all their hard work this year. They were fantastic and its hard to believe it was their first ski season. They have decided to try new slopes next season and we wish them well. We are however extremely lucky to have Sam and Scott with us for next season. This will be their third season in Paradski extremely experienced and know the chalet well as they worked with us last year, it will be a good season and we are already looking forward to it. This last week in the Alps has been fantastic and there is so much to do here in the summer. Natalie and Manu in Skiset have helped us organise cycle hire and private guiding for our boys and they have loved it. Covering miles each day, over to Les Arcs, La Plagne and also up into Tignes. It really is set out so well here, good maps, plenty of restaurants open and suitable for all levels. Wednesday we white water rafted down the river which is always fun, some boys opted for hydrospeed down the Haute Isere. Saturday we drove up the valley to Le Lac at Tignes which despite the weather was very enjoyable, lots going on including canoeing and even a beach rugby competition. If anyone fancies a break in the Alps this summer we have limited availability left with only the last two weeks of August free. With regard to next winter bookings are well up already and we only really have about 6 weeks now available, we even have a booking for Christmas 2015 ! Please get in touch if you are thinking of a holiday next year. TAGS: skiset, mountain bike, alps
